Historical Appointment for Korean Martial Arts
Korea KiDo Association, Seoul, ROK.
The Korea KiDo Association (KiDo) 대한기도회 (합기도), established in 1963, is the world’s oldest official body for the promotion of authentic Korean Martial Arts (KMAs), especially HapKiDo. The International HoSinSul Federation (IHF) is an associate body within the KiDo.
To better promote and globally inculcate international benchmark standards for Instructors of HapKiDo (HKD; Way of Co-Ordinated Power) and HoSinSul (HSS; Applied Self Defense), both the KiDo and the IHF approved an agreement to appoint Grand Master (GM) LTC J. S. LIM exclusive rights to conduct Rank (Dan) as well as Instructor and Deputy Instructor courses for both HKD and HSS under the auspices of the above respective governing bodies.
GM LIM is the innovator of these courses and has the sanction and mandate to execute these courses globally. Lim holds 9 Dan rank in HKD (KiDo); HSS (IHF); TukKongMooSool or ROK Military Special Forces Close Quarter Combat (KWTA) and TaeKwonDo (WT ChungDoKwan; 8 Dan KukKiWon). He is the former head, Military Close Quarter Combat (CQC), Royal Malaysian Armed Forces.
